Support This Site (And Other Things)

Will You Help Me Create Free Resources For The Arts Community?

I really love making things that help other people create. I also really love making those things available for free. It’s not that I don’t believe in things having value – it’s just that I think creative folks often need a “boost” towards being successful. Keeping resource material free to access helps with giving people that boost.

Of course, making free resources isn’t without cost. Even if the only immediate cost is a person’s time, they still have to “spend” something to create materials for other people to enjoy. While a lot of the work that’s done by people like me is simply undertaken “for the love,” it’s very helpful to have some material support for one’s own self.

That’s where you come in. If you’ve enjoyed the materials on this site, and would like to help with the creation of more and better resources in the same vein, would you consider funding me through my Patreon campaign?

As little as $1 per release, “capped” at $5 per month can have a real impact – especially if a large group of people all offer their support at that level.

Your support will also go towards my projects to provide resources for visual, motion-picture, and video game artists. To get some examples of that, you can look through some of the 3D models that I’ve made available for free: Just visit this gallery page.

There’s a lot more that I could say about all of this, especially when it comes to my philosophy about projects like The Small Venue Survivalist. At the same time, I don’t want to turn this page into a mountain of text. Instead, I’d like to share a slide-deck that I had the privilege of presenting to a live audience. It gets into why I want to do projects like this, and how these kinds of resources are really about enriching as many people as possible.

The slide-deck should display properly in just about any HTML5-capable browser.

Whether or not you ultimately decide to support what I do…

Thank you.
